Chloe Smiling

I thought I would post another picture of Chloe. She is smiling just a little bit in this picture. It is so special when she grins at you. Her whole face lights up. I can't wait to hear her first giggles. I have heard her a couple of times when she was asleep, but I want to hear her giggle at us. I am sure with Cassidy and Callie as her sisters, she will have a lot to laugh at.

The other day I remember the first time Callie giggled. We were at JC Penny and Cassidy was trying on flip flops. Callie just looked at her and laughed. She thought it was funny. I hope I always remember these times.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

I took a trip to the recycle center this morning. After speaking with Heather, I was convinced that it would be pretty easy, and it was! In fact, I wondered why I haven't been doing this more. Amy and I have had a desire for long time to become more environmentally friendly, and this is a good step in the right direction. Now all we have to do make a place to keep the items. I'm thinking that if we have a spot for newspapers, a spot for plastics, and a spot for cans that should be sufficient.

In case you don't know, the Recycling Center is located down by Rick's Towing just off of 10th street on Bledsoe. As of now they are open on Saturday mornings from 8:00am to noon. However, Heather said the lady there mentioned that they would soon be open on Wednesday's from noon to 4:00pm.

While I was there, I heard there is another place on Salem Road this is open everyday, but I don't know their hours.

Amy and I really encourage everyone reading this to at least think about recycling. Every bit helps, and maybe if we all work together, we can leave a better planet for our children.

4 Generations Picture

Yesterday I went with the girls, my mom, and my grandma to Sears to get a 4 generation picture taken. I have been wanting to do this for a while and thought it would be nice to have it back before Mother's Day.

Here are some other pictures we had taken of the girls while we were there.

A Rare Moment

Cassidy is at school and both Callie and Chloe are asleep. It doesn't happen very often that all is quiet here. Of course, as I am typing this, Chloe is waking up and the telephone is ringing. It was nice for the moment.

Update on Cassidy's Loose Tooth

On Friday morning, Cassidy was playing and came to me with her loose tooth in her hand. She said that if just fell out while she was playing. We put it in a baggie and called Daddy at work to let him know. She then wanted to call Grandma and let her know. I think she would have called everyone she knew if I would have let her.

She asked me if there was a tooth fairy. I told her there was not a tooth fairy, but it is fun to pretend sometimes. She asked if I was the tooth fairy. I told her yes. She went to sleep that night without remembering to place her tooth under her pillow. Instead of making her wait. I slipped some money under her pillow before she woke up the next morning. She was so excited.

She wanted an apple to eat that morning. I think she is trying to get another loose tooth. She was eating an apple when we first found that her tooth was loose.

Here is a picture of Cassidy without her tooth. She lost one of the bottom middle teeth.

Earthquake

We were awaken early this morning by a magnitude 5.4 Earthquake! The quake was centered around Olney, and could be felt as far away as Alabama and Florida. I was in a deep sleep, and for a few seconds was not quite sure what was going on. I immediately jumped out of bed, and found it a bit difficult to walk. It was by far the most intense earthquake I have ever experienced. Although the kids slept through it, I'm sure a lot of people felt it.

The earthquake was the top story on the national news, and it was one of the biggest earthquakes in Illinois history. Some people closer to the quake reported feeling several aftershocks.

Sticker Fun

I thought I would share a picture of the girls playing with their stickers. They have a drawer full of stickers and love to get them ALL out. It it fun for them to put them on paper and make pictures for people. It is also good for me. It enables me to fix supper, clean up, or just do something I would like to do.

Cassidy is Ready for School

It is 7:15am. Cassidy is ready for school. She does not have to be there until 12:30pm. Why is she ready so early. I usually have to tell her to get dressed, find her backpack and get her shoes on. She woke up early and got herself dressed today.

Last night she was eating an apple and said her tooth hurt. I looked at it and found it was loose. Cassidy is so excited. She has her first loose tooth. She wants to be to school early because she wants to tell her teachers and all her friends. She just can't wait.

Here is a picture of her showing her loose tooth.
We will keep you updated and let you know when she looses it.

Spring is Here

Today is a very rainy day. I thought I would post a couple of pictures I took the other day. For me (Amy) one sign of spring is when the forsythia bushes bloom. I have wanted one of these bushes for a while. Last year we planted one in the front yard. It is not very big yet, but it is blooming. I just love the yellow flowers.
