The Great Divorce

I just finished reading C.S. Lewis’ book The Great Divorce. The story takes place as the writer, in a dream, takes a supernatural journey into Heaven. Along his way, he realizes that the place he calls Earth, is in actuality part of Heaven or part of Hell. The implication is that we are presently on a voyage towards our ultimate fate. Through an incredible story, complete with amazing literary technique, he touches upon the difficult theological and intellectual concepts such as good and evil, redemption, eternity, purgatory, and the supernatural. I strongly recommend reading this book.

“If we insist on keeping Hell (or even earth) we shall not see Heaven; if we accept Heaven we shall not be able to retain even the smallest and most intimate souvenirs of Hell.”

Wonderful Easter Weekend!

This was a really good Easter weekend. Saturday night I went to a small group from our church. I was great! Sunday we went to church, and then spent time time with family and friends. The kids got to hunt Easter eggs at the church, and we all just tried to relax a bit. Above is a picture of my and Chloe. She is just over three weeks old! Below is a picture of my dad with all three grandkids. They really love him and Jeanie.

Finally Friday

It's finally Friday. It's hard to believe that Chloe is already two weeks old! She has already changed so much! She is starting to make the typical baby sounds now, reaches and grabs hold of things, and tries to lift her head to look around. We are really getting to know her, and can already tell she has a different personality than either of our other two girls. Having a baby is such a neat experience. Yes, it is hard work, but it is worth it. Our friend Nena came over yesterday, and she commented on how sweet it is to hold a newborn. The are so lovable, innocent, and pure. There is nothing like it, and I hope everyone gets to experience it.

Third quarter is wrapping up for me (Ryan), and I am really looking forward to Spring break. It has been a difficult year, but so far this semester is 100% better than last semester. I'm going to believe that the rest of the year will just keep getting better and better!

Sleepy Callie

We are all adjusting good to having a new baby. Amy and I have done this twice before, so it is really nothing new. In fact, I would have to say that it is really much easier this time. Cassidy and Callie are dealing with some jealousy issues, but that is probably to be expected. They both seem to be requiring a lot more attention all of a sudden. They want to be held all the time, and just seem to be pretty needy.

The picture above is of Amy in the chair with all the children! After they all go to sleep, it is my job to move each of them. I guess this will work for a while, but at some point we will need to change routines.

Speaking of sleeping, here is a pretty funny video of a very sleepy Callie baby! Thanks for reading!

Two Short Videos of Chloe

Everything is going great. Amy thought I should give some statistics on the new baby. She was born at 3:35pm on February 29th. That makes here a Leap Year Baby! She weighed exactly 8 pounds, and was 18.5 inches long.

We named her "Chloe Nichole Robinson." Tonight we let both Cassidy and Callie hold her, and they just didn't want to let her go! They love their little sister.

Below are a couple of short videos that I took at the hospital. Thanks for reading the blog, and check back frequently to see what is going on with the Robinson family!
