Wonderful Weekend!

This weekend was a great weekend. On Saturday we went to the zoo with our friends Bobby and Janice, and their little girl. I really don’t care too much for the circus, but this was not bad, and Cassidy loved it!

The Sunday service was great. Pastor Mark told the story of Jonathon’s son Mafibasheth. He also brought light to the 23rd Psalm that I have never thought about. According to the pastor, there was a time in the Jewish history that if a person was running from their enemies, and were able to make it to the Kings tent, then the King would give them sanctuary. He would even “prepare a table for them” in the presence of their enemies. When I thought about this, I remembered that I had been praying for something similar. You see, the “precious” that I have wrote about before has come back into my life several times. Just recently, I once again got rid of it. I realize that my enemies would enjoy using it to destroy me. My prayer is that God would protect me from my enemies, and even from myself. I want to rest under the shelter of God’s wings. I want Him to prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

After the service, we had a wonderful visit and dinner with our friends Nena and Gary. We were once close to them, and then, as friendships sometimes do, drifted apart. I have been praying that we would once again enjoy sweet fellowhip with them. Perhaps this is the beginning of that, and if not, it was great to enjoy this day. After all, THIS is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in IT. And that is just what we did.

Good Time, Bad Place

Well, we spent Friday night in Paducah, KY. We had a good time with some of our friends. However, the place we stayed at had really gone down hill since we were there last. Oh well, it was terrible. We would have went swimming, but the water was way too cold. We did go to a nice mall, and Amy and Cassidy liked that. On the way home we stopped at a toy store, and Cassidy liked that also.

Not much else going on.

Thing are Going Good

Things are going pretty good right now. We had a great time last night with a wonderful friend (Hi Cyndel) who came over for supper. Some of our other friends have invited us to go with them to Paducah this weekend, so that should be nice. Things at church are going really good also. I (Ryan) have started helping a friend with his Sunday school class (Hi Fred). This makes me feel like I am contributing something to the church. Amy and Cassidy look forward to going each week now also.
