Update on the Barking Dog

I finally made contact with the owner of the dog tonight. So far, I have knocked on his door several times, sent him a letter, and called the police. When he came to the door, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was ready for an argument. To my surprise, he was very apologetic about the situation. I could tell, however, that from his standpoint, he wasn’t quite sure why it was bothering me as much as it is. I told him the dog was waking me up at about 5:00am. He said, “Well I get up at a quarter till 4:00. In the end, he told me that he was trying to get rid of the dog, and if I knew anyone who could give it a nice country home that he would give it to them. Hmmm, I wonder who wants a barking dog?
