The High Price of Gas

With the gas prices high and on the rise, I thought you might enjoy this picture I found.

We are currently trying to make up for the cost of gas by driving a little less. I (Amy) don't go to Fairview Heights and Marion/Carbondale as much as I did before the gas prices went so high. Recently I have started to clip coupons and watch for deals. I read may other blogs on frugal living and get tips from them. I try to share some of my findings on my blog Amy's Life.

How are you affected by the rising gas prices? Leave a comment to let us know.

Chloe Smiling

I know I posted a picture before of Chloe smiling, but I think this picture is better. I thought you might enjoy seeing how big she is getting. She is almost 3 months old. The time goes by so quickly.

Callie's 1st Hair Cut

BEFORE

DURING

AFTER

Callie got her hair cut for the first time last Tuesday. It had been hanging in her eyes for a while. She rarely let me put it up. We decided it was time for a hair cut. She was very good. She said still and didn't cry. She got a certificate and an envelope with a little bit of her hair in it for us to save.

She is so proud of her hair cut. I curled it under for church yesterday, she looked so cute. It looks like a little bob hair cut. I will post another picture soon of Callie with her hair curled.

She is growing up so fast.

Cassidy Won!!

We went to the Spring Fling at Cassidy's school last Friday night. The band played and the kids all sang songs. They provided dinner for us and everyone brought their favorite dessert. They also had baskets put together by each of the classes. You could buy raffle tickets and put them in the can provided for the basket you wanted to try to win. Cassidy got a few tickets at school and put them in the one she wanted. I bought $10.00 worth of tickets (50) and Callie and I put one or two in each basket we thought Cassidy would be interested in. When they start drawing for the baskets, Cassidy won the first one. It was an outdoor fun basket. I thought, ok I am ready to go. She wanted to stay a little longer. Her name was called again. She won the basket full of books. I tried to get her to leave, but she insisted she wanted to stay until the end. After a little while, her name was called again and she won a third basket full of gardening things. What a night. She was the talk of her class when she went back to school. She loves winning.

Chloe Smiling

I thought I would post another picture of Chloe. She is smiling just a little bit in this picture. It is so special when she grins at you. Her whole face lights up. I can't wait to hear her first giggles. I have heard her a couple of times when she was asleep, but I want to hear her giggle at us. I am sure with Cassidy and Callie as her sisters, she will have a lot to laugh at.

The other day I remember the first time Callie giggled. We were at JC Penny and Cassidy was trying on flip flops. Callie just looked at her and laughed. She thought it was funny. I hope I always remember these times.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

I took a trip to the recycle center this morning. After speaking with Heather, I was convinced that it would be pretty easy, and it was! In fact, I wondered why I haven't been doing this more. Amy and I have had a desire for long time to become more environmentally friendly, and this is a good step in the right direction. Now all we have to do make a place to keep the items. I'm thinking that if we have a spot for newspapers, a spot for plastics, and a spot for cans that should be sufficient.

In case you don't know, the Recycling Center is located down by Rick's Towing just off of 10th street on Bledsoe. As of now they are open on Saturday mornings from 8:00am to noon. However, Heather said the lady there mentioned that they would soon be open on Wednesday's from noon to 4:00pm.

While I was there, I heard there is another place on Salem Road this is open everyday, but I don't know their hours.

Amy and I really encourage everyone reading this to at least think about recycling. Every bit helps, and maybe if we all work together, we can leave a better planet for our children.

4 Generations Picture

Yesterday I went with the girls, my mom, and my grandma to Sears to get a 4 generation picture taken. I have been wanting to do this for a while and thought it would be nice to have it back before Mother's Day.

Here are some other pictures we had taken of the girls while we were there.
